Worried-sick about the ever-expanding oil price bubble? How about the greenhouse gas emissions upcoming caps and taxes? If considering change, which alternative fuel should you choose? And most importantly, how are we going to pay for all of this?
The economics and the financial dimensions of the current uneasy energy situation may not be the first items on an automotive engineer's priority agenda, but as the recent unveilings during the 2008 SAE World Congress can attest, the technical solutions they seek could profoundly alter the financial aspect of the equation.

The Society of Automotive Engineers
Technically speaking, the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) represents all the complexities of the mobility industry - from strictly automotive mechanical hardware to computer software, and by default it's an evolutionary organization. Formed in 1905 - its first vice-president was Henry Ford - the organization started off with about 30 engineers all based in the USA. By now, SAE has over 92,000 members based in 97 countries and two affiliates - SAE Brazil and SAE India.
