HONDA ACCORD: The Power of Four

You probably know it by now: "Take a hundred musicians in a depressed port city in Northern England, choose John, Paul, George, and Ringo and you have "Hey Jude". Take a hundred computer geeks in Redmond, Washington, send 96 of them home and the remainder is called Microsoft. A mere four people out of a hundred can make gridlock go away by choosing not to use their car. One commuter in your neighborhood could put the rush back into rush hour. Call it the Power of Four. So, imagine the other changes that can be wrought just by four of us--four of you--out of a hundred."
Tom Hanks' well-known speech at Vassar College's graduation ceremony on May 22, 2005 is, in many ways, nothing but a reminder to the importance of ‘four'.

Extrapolate this concept to automotive retail, introduce Honda Canada, add the Accord nameplate, and what we have here is nothing short of a new, differentiated vision of the future of the Canadian automotive market place.

In simple terms, Honda's new campaign - Accord Four Challenge, is designed to reignite Canadians' interest in the 2008 Accord's four-cylinder version as a worthy consideration for consumers wary of the latest crossover gospel. At a deeper level, however, it seems that Honda is repositioning itself for a future realignment of product in the Canadian marketplace - a move that is already noticeable at retail level.
