Pure Electric - EVs Are Coming: Are YOU ready?
Part I

by Michael Pistol

By the corporate book, a crisis always brings about two very important dynamics: voluntary and involuntary business innovation. As this financial crisis current narrative goes on unabated, we can’t stop to wonder who is really holding the key to the guns locker – and what all of this debt detritus could possibly mean in the long term.
Perplexing as it is, when you think of it, what we’re dealing with here, is a multitude of problems – energy, environment, incompetent leadership, consumer debt and business lending, all neatly wrapped into the big one, a financial crisis monster that’s rapidly swallowing entire economies – Canada’s included.

Forget decoupling and the speedy recovery fantasies. Within the auto sector, OEMs have responded in different ways to the emerging challenges. From that voluntary and involuntary innovation perspective,we've looked at the Better Place project in the spring, then we’ve looked at GM last week, and surprisingly, this week’s main development brings us to the same type of ‘electric’ story. This time it is from Chrysler.
